Wiz Khalifa has inked a new label deal for his Taylor Gang Ent. with Atlantic Records, where he is also signed as an artist.
“We are very pleased to expand our business with our partners at Atlantic Records/Warner Music. This is a great step forward for Taylor Gang as we get ready to move into the new year and focus on growth. We are all very excited,” said Taylor Gang co-founder, Will Dzombak.
Khalifa, who is currently going through a legal dispute with his former manager Benjy Grinberg and ex-label Rostrum Records, expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to partner with Atlantic and grow his company, stating that “these guys are my family and friends first, now we’re gonna take this this shit to the next level.”
While on the Atlantic roster, Khalifa has experienced numerous success at the label, producing hits such as “Black And Yellow,” “We Dem Boyz,” and “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth.
“Wiz is an amazingly talented artist, songwriter and entrepreneur. We’ve been so proud to have him as an Atlantic recording artist for the past six years, during which he also built Taylor Gang into a powerhouse hip-hop brand with a phenomenal fan following,” said Atlantic Records Chairman/COO, Julie Greenwald. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Wiz and Taylor Gang to take his crew to the next level, and welcome them to the Atlantic family.”
Officially formed in 2011, Taylor Gang is now a record label and management company, home to veteran and budding recording and production talent such as Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, Chevy Woods, Berner, and Sledgren, to mention a few.
In support of the joint venture with Atlantic, Khalifa and Taylor Gang released their new mixtape, TGOD Vol. 1.
