In a newly created position, Warner Music Group (WMG) has promoted former Senior Director, Global A&R Aton Ben-Horin to Global Vice President, A&R. Ben-Horin will continue reporting to Mike Caren, Creative Officer at WMG.
As part of his new role, Ben-Horin will carry on his duties of providing A&R resources and creative support throughout WMG’s recorded music labels, including Atlantic Records and Warner Bros. Records, as well as its international affiliates. He will also assist in the development of new talent and existing signings by helping to identify songs, songwriters and producers, in collaboration with WMG’s A&R executives around the world.
Ben-Horan, who has almost two decades in the music industry as an established DJ that has played gigs at Ultra Music Festival, is also the owner & CEO of Plush Management LLC and Florida-based Plush Recording Studios, and co-founder of songwriting/production team The Agency with Mike Molina and Nelson Kyle.
Utilizing his creative talent in the position of A&R at WMG, Ben-Horin has contributed his expertise to a number of hits for WMG artists, including Flo Rida (“My House” and “G.D.F.R.”), Jason Derulo (“Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle”), David Guetta (“Hey Mama” and “Bad”), and many others.
“Through his hands-on experience as a producer, DJ, studio owner, and A&R exec, Aton has a rare depth of experience,” said Mike Caren. “He has an acute understanding of what it takes to make a hit record and is a trusted advisor to WMG’s artists and global teams. This is a richly deserved promotion, and I look forward to our continued collaborations.”
“Mike Caren has been an extraordinary mentor, and it’s a blessing to work with such an amazing team. Every day I feel challenged, excited and energized by the work we’re doing, and I can’t wait for the world to hear all of the incredible music we have in the pipeline,” said Ben-Horin.
