Republic Records has appointed Dan Cohen as VP of Marketing, as announced today by Jim Roppo, EVP Marketing & Commerce. Cohen will be based in Republic’s New York City office.
In his new position, Cohen will lead the marketing efforts for a number of artists on the label, including projects from acts such as John Mellencamp, James Blake, and Phantogram, to mention a few names.
Roppo addressed the addition of Cohen by stating, “Over the past two decades, Dan has established himself as one of the most respected executives in the game—with good reason! He’s equally tenacious and savvy when it comes to breaking new acts and augmenting the legacies of superstars, and I’ve admired his work from afar for many years. I’m honored to formally welcome him toRepublic Records.”

Prior to joining Republic, Cohen worked at Caroline for three years as their VP of Marketing. Before that he served as VP of Marketing at Capitol Records. Other companies Cohen has held executive positions at include V2 Records, PALM Pictures, Girlie-Action, and Astralwerks.
