Canadian recording artist, songwriter, and TV actress Lennon Stella, who plays Maddie Conrad on the hit CMT series Nashville, has signed a recording contract with music veteran Barry Weiss’ RECORDS label.
Rejoicing at the chance to pursue her musical talent professionally, the 18-year old Ontario native said: “I feel so lucky to work hand in hand with this incredible and inspiring group of people. There are no words to describe the feeling of finally being able to release my own music, something I have always dreamed of.”
“Lennon’s unique artistry, point of view, distinctive vocal ability and star-power is simply overwhelming,” said Weiss, Partner & Co-Founder, RECORDS. “We’re super excited to have her here at RECORDS. I’m elated that Jenna Andrews (who does A&R for the label) brought her to us.”
In 2012, Stella began to garner attention musically as part of the duo Lennon and Maisy following the success of Youtube videos released with her younger sister, Maisy Stella, who also stars as the character Daphne Conrad on Nashville.
Columbia Records, which established a joint venture with RECORDS, will distribute Stella’s debut project, and plans to release music from her in 2018.
