Edizioni Curci, one of Italy’s oldest and most revered music publishers, signed a multi-year publishing administration deal with Downtown Music Publishing for North America.
The Curci family owns and manages the catalog of over 50,000 songs in categories including Italian pop, opera, classical, and film music. Some of the songs in the repertoire achieved international acclaim via recordings by Dean Martin (“Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu [Volare]”); Grace Jones (“I’ve Seen That Face Before”); Shirley Bassey (“This Is My Life [La Vita]”); and Dusty Springfield (“You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me”).
“The Curci family have literally written the book on music publishing, representing some of the most commercially successful and critically adored music in Italy for over 150 years,” said Justin Kalifowitz, CEO of Downtown Music Publishing. “To be entrusted to manage these songs in North America by Alfredo and his family is an extraordinary honor for Downtown.”
“Edizioni Curci are thrilled to start this new cooperation with Downtown and are honoured to work with such a pro-active and motivated staff, whose approach to deal with new challenges definitely grabbed us,” said Alfredo Gramitto Ricci, CEO and Claudia Mescoli, General Manager of Edizioni Curci.
