Downtown Music Publishing and indie label Mom + Pop Music announce a joint publishing venture. The first signing as part of the new partnership is a publishing deal with Mom + Pop artist Neon Indian.
Details of the joint venture include Downtown Music Publishing offering their traditional sync and licensing services, plus Mom + Pop’s A&R efforts to help secure new agreements and aid in the development of artists already on Mom + Pop’s roster, as well as unsigned talent. It’s not a requirement for any new discovered artists to be signed to Mom + Pop to be offered a publishing deal under the joint venture.
“We are big fans of the roster and team at Mom + Pop and admire the energy they put in to developing their artists,” says Downtown’s VP of Global A&R Jeremy Yohai. “We are very excited to work together on the creative side and look forward to bringing our combined energy to the publishing world.”
“We are flattered and inspired to be working with Neon Indian in our venture with Downtown Music Publishing,” says Michael Goldstone, president of Mom + Pop. “He’s a gifted writer/artist and of great importance to all of us. Now, Mom+Pop is working with Downtown Music Publishing who are like-minded and open-minded. We’ve always had tremendous respect for the company and admired their work from afar, so we are thrilled to have formalized this.”
